- Temperament – The Borzoi is agile, alert, athletic, calm, courageous, energetic, gentle, independent, loving, loyal, quiet and well-mannered. They are affectionate with family and they can get along with elder children. Due to their size, obedience training is important for them and they are quick learner. Borzois can mix with dogs especially sight hounds. They seldom bark and they are not a good watch dog. Experienced dog owner is more suitable for Borzoi. Feed them small portion meals two or three times a day instead of one large meal.
- Appearance – The Borzoi has a slender and tall body. Their appearance look like the Greyhound. They look elegant and graceful. The head is long and narrow, the skull is slightly domed. They have a pair of dark eyes. The ears are small and lying back on the neck. They have a black nose and the muzzle is long. The strong neck is slightly arched and the narrow chest is deep. As typical Greyhound traits, Borzois have long and powerful legs. The feet are hare-shaped with well-arched knuckles. They have a long tail which carried low. Borzois come with silky medium length coat. The shorter coat can be found on the head, ears and front legs. The longer thick coat can be found on the hind legs and tail. Borzoi is slow to mature.
