Virginia Daly wanted to breed an Abyssinian-pointed Siamese. The first generation of kittens looked like Abyssinian and the second generation was a spotted kitten. The breeder’s daughter named it as Tonga. The Tonga was neutered and sold out as pet. This cat breed name was from the word of “Ocelot” because it resembles an Ocelot.
